Q: Son died 12 hrs after car failed to yield. Driver had 2 warrants 4 DUI, no licenseby, 9 suspensions. Manslaughter?

If there is insurance you can sue for wrongful death.

The nieces estate would have a claim as would children. Suggest that you contact a member of the Iowa Assn for Justice to get the basics of who can sue, then proceed from there.

I'm hesitant to answer this question without knowing more. See a lawyer. My gut tells me it's doubtful. And so see a lawyer.
